A big step up from the old Cintiq 16: 2.5K, brighter, better color and the Pro Pen 3. There are no keys, no touch and only one stand angle, and Huion and XPPen offer more for less.

Pros and cons
Pros
- Pro Pen 3 with Wacom's drivers.
- Sharp 2560 x 1600 screen with 99% DCI-P3.
- No PWM flicker, silent, stays cool (Seven Pens).
- Much simpler cables than the 2019 model.

Real-world math
Drawing space. A 16-inch 16:10 screen is about 345 x 215 mm, or roughly 742 square centimeters. Same as the XPPen Artist Pro 16 (Gen 2), and about 8% more than the Kamvas 16.
Sharpness. 2560 x 1600 on 16 inches is about 189 pixels per inch. That's a big jump from the old 1080p Cintiq 16's 141.
Brightness. 290 nits claimed, the brightest of the three 16-inch screens we've covered on paper.
What changed from the 2019 model
Seven Pens calls it "a significant upgrade in many ways": higher resolution, much more vivid color, lower parallax and plain USB-C cables instead of Wacom's old proprietary connector. It also moved to the Pro Pen 3.
The catches
There are no buttons or dials anywhere, and no touch. The fold-out legs give you roughly one angle. Seven Pens noted it's heavier than Xencelabs and Huion rivals. Best Buy owners (9 reviews, 4.8/5) loved the pen, and one struggled to find a USB-C cable that worked with their computer.

- Is this the new Cintiq 16?
- Yes. This is the 2560 x 1600 model with Pro Pen 3 (DTK168). Many older reviews cover the 2019 1080p model (DTK1660), which is quite different.
- What's in the box?
- Wacom lists the display, Pro Pen 3 with a pen stand, standard and felt nibs, a nib tool, an AC adapter and two 1.8 m USB-C cables.
- Does it have a stand?
- It has built-in fold-out legs at about 20 degrees. For other angles, use a stand or VESA-compatible arm.
- Does it have touch?
- No. For touch, look at the Cintiq Pro 17.
Bottom line
If you want a Wacom screen and don't need touch or keys, this is the one to get. If brand doesn't matter, the Huion Kamvas 16 (Gen 3) or XPPen Artist Pro 16 (Gen 2) give you more for less.
