Real-world math
The real cost. Add the Slim Pen and a keyboard. Without them it's a tablet with no pen and no typing.
Screen space. The 13-inch 3:2 screen is about 275 x 183 mm, or 503 square centimeters. That's about 40% more than an iPad Air 11.
Sharpness. 2880 x 1920 on 13 inches is about 266 pixels per inch, on par with the iPad.
Battery. Microsoft claims up to 15.5 hours of video.
Drawing on it
This 2026 model is new, and drawing-focused reviews are still thin. On the previous (11th Edition) model with the same kind of pen, Parka Blogs saw diagonal line jitter and ranked the pen below the Apple Pencil and S Pen. I'll update this section as reviews of the 2026 model come in.
Where it wins
It runs full desktop software. If you need Windows-only apps for school or work, no iPad or Android tablet can match it.
